Folk singer Mackenzie O'Brien is a rising performer who has performed at over 40 different venues since going professional barely a year ago. "I didn't choose music, music chose me," she says. When she picked up a guitar at the age of 14, she felt as if part of her "was unlocked and the clouds parted."
Mackenzie performs covers with her own twist from a variety of sources including Kacey Musgraves, Coldplay, Radiohead, Cat Stevens, Hozier, Shakey Graves, Norah Jones, The Bee Gees, and The Avett Borthers. Her voice has been compared to Colbie Caillat's. In addition to acoustic guitar, Mackenzie also plays ukulele and banjo, and she has a background in opera singing.
